Our whole class walked to the local post office to mail the quilts to Puerto Rico.
This is the quilt
package.
The package is
weighed.
The package is
mailed.
Here is the email from our friends in Puerto Rico when they knew the quilts were coming.
October 23,
l999 Dear Mrs.
Rennebohm Franz's Class, Thank you
very much for the quilts you made for us and for all the
children affected by Hurricane Georges in Puerto Rico. Thank
you for the emails too. We are glad because you are thinking
on us and want to make us happy. For sure, your quilts will
comfort all of us. When the
news reporter receive the quilt, we will go to the T.V.
station with my Mom and some students from my school (who
lost their stuffs due to the winds and
floods). Then we are
going to take the quilt to different shelters. We will show
it to many children so they can see all the happy faces you
drew to make them smile. Also, when
we receive our quilt, we are going to show it in our
school's library. We already talked with our friends about
the special gift you made. We are going to share it with all
the people we know. They will know how much special you are.
Thank you again to all of you. Sincerely, Your
friends in Puerto Rico
