Clownfish and Coral Reefs
We learned about clownfish from our coral reef science books and the book Curious Clownfish by Adrienne Kennaway, Frances Lincoln, 1990.
We learned that clownfish and sea anemones are "reef buddies" because they take care of each other. The clownfish cleans the sea anemone and the sea anemone protects the clownfish from predators.
We made clownfish paintings to show how the clownfish can hide and be camouflaged in the sea anemone.
Here is how we did our science artwork:
First, we each made a pencil sketch of a clownfish and a sea anemone on great BIG art paper!

Second,
we colored the clownfish and the sea anemone with crayons.

Fifth,
we painted the background.

Then our clownfish paintings were finished! We put them up on the wall in our classroom so that when we are working in our classroom, we feel like we are in a coral reef!!
