Ms. McLane Gets Ready! |
1.Why do you like riding bikes so much? Sometimes I ride alone because I get to think. It's a challenge. I like to ride with friends, too!
2. Is it fun bike riding? Yes, it is fun. It's also tiring.
3. How often did you go bicycling to get ready for your trip around the world? Not enough. I needed to be bicycling 100 hours a week to be ready on the trip. I know I'm not as ready as I need to be. I know I will be tired the first two months.But, I think if I can make it through the first two months, I will be okay.
4. Is it fun getting ready for your trip? It was lots of fun in the summer. And exciting. This is something I've been planning on doing for several years and it is a dream come true to be now finally going! I can't wait!!!
5.What are some places you have traveled before? Novisibirsk, Russia; Osaka,Japan; Puerto Madryn & Buenos Aires,Argentina; Melbourne & Great Barrier Reef, Australia; Budapest, Hungary
6. Where will you go on your trip? Baja, Mexico; Los Angeles; Costa Rica; Panama; Santiago, Chile; Argentina; South Africa; Italy; Spain; Washington, D.C.; Norway; Paris, France; Wales; Scotland; Denmark; Russia; Australia; New Zealand; Japan; China; Malaysia; Hawaii; Vietnam; Thailand; Greece; Panama; Canada; New York City; England; Ireland; Germany; Finland; Norway; and Sweden.
7. What is the biggest country you are going to travel in? Probably Russia.
8. Why are you going to travel around the world? Because it is fun. You get to learn about different countries and meet people!
9. Is it fun to see different places around the world? Yes.
10. How do you think it will feel traveling around the world? I think there will be exciting adventures and it will be tiring.
11. How many people are you going to bicycling with? 246.
12. Will you bike on islands? Yes, I think we will.
13. Will you ride past a beach? Yes, in Chile we will.
14. Will you be bicycling in the dark? I hope not!
15. What are you going to wear on your trip? I have special bike shoes made in Italy. The bottoms of the shoes snap into the bike peddles. I'm wearing our Odyssey 2000 jacket so you can see it. I have bicycle clothes for the trip.
16. How are you going to eat on your trip? Food is provided in the cities we stay in.
17. Where are you going to sleep on your trip? We will camp out most of the time.
18. Where will pack your clothes for your bike trip? How will you take a suitcase? Everything I take needs to fit in my suitcase that is 17 inches by 17 inches by 36 inches.When we are bicycling, we will put our suitcases in a van that travels with us. Each of us gets a small locker on the van for our things.
19. When will you begin and end your trip? We will start January 1st, 2000 and end December 31st, 2000.
20. Are you excited about your bike trip? Yes, very excited!!!! And I'm excited that I can share this trip with you and many other children around the world! I will send your class email from my small pocket computer. It has a tiny keyboard and it can be connected to a telephone. Then you can put the email messages on the website to share with everyone!!!!
