1. We have 30 patches with 5 rows and 6 patches in each row. 5 x 6 = 30 6+6+6+6+6=30
2. We have 85 shapes in our quilt.
3. We have 20 small squares.
4.We have a diagonal pattern in the rows with:
the first patch in the first row
+the second p. in the 2nd r.
+the 3rd p. in the 3rd r.
+the 4th p. in the 4th r.
+the 5th p. in the 5th r.
which is whole, halves, thirds, square fourths and triangle fourths just like the fraction pattern by horizontal rows.
5. We have 20 small triangles.
6. We still have four diamonds.
7. We have a prediction that the next patch will be the 1st patch in the 6th row.
8. We have a prediction that the 6th row will have a fraction pattern of whole, halves, thirds, square fourths, triangle fourths and thirds because then "Caleb's diagonal" fraction pattern will be whole, halves , thirds, square fourths , triangle fourths and thirds just like the fraction pattern of all the horizontal rows.
9. If you take a diamond + the 2 adjacent triangles above or below it , you will have either a geese pattern or a cat head shape.
