Our Comfort Days of School Quilt

Our 6th Days of School Quilt was a comfort quilt. We have made comfort quilts before to bring smiles to the faces of children who need comforting. (See our Ronald McDonald House and Children's Hospital Project and our hurricane comfort quilts hurricane projects for Puerto Rico and Nicaragua).

Each day two classmates used fabric crayons to draw smiling faces for the quilt to make a rectangle patch with two cheerful faces like this:

Here is our finsihed comfort quilt and the math comments we made on the day we finished it.

1. We have 24 rectangle patches in our comfort quilt.

2. We have 48 faces and 48 smiles.

3. We have 96 eyes.

4. The background pattern of green blue purple repeats 8 times.

5. We have 161 patches in our our days of school quilts so far and we have had 161 days of school!
