Literacy Lessons In Our Classroom

In our classroom, we connect our writing and reading lessons to the many topics we study during the school year. Our literacy program is designed to meet the individual learning needs of all children from those who are just now beginning to read to those who are independent readers. Throughout each school day, we are reading and writing about what we are studying in math, science, social studies, and art. We use a wide range of children's literature across reading levels to help us "learn to read" and to "read to learn" about our world. We also use the school district reading program to provide valuable literacy lessons for the children in our classroom. And we have storytime every day as an important part of our literacy program!

We use email, websites and video editing about our classroom topics in math, science, social studies and art to help children develop important essential learning skills in writing and reading. Click on links below to learn more about how we can build our reading skills.
