Our Friend Blue

Blue is our teacher's dog. Blue is a sweet dog. She likes to be around people, especially kids!!!! Blue is a female dog. Blue is playful. She wiggles and wags her tail! We treat Blue nicely because she treats us nicely. We give her water to drink. She gets her food at home.

Blue likes to lay down and rest. Sometimes she goes under the computer table to sleep. Sometimes she rolls over. We take turns taking care of Blue because we pet her one at a time to make her happy. She likes being petted. She likes to have you scratch her behind her ears.
We have learned about service dogs. Service dogs are dogs that help and guide people. Service dogs are trained to do special jobs to help people like turn on a light switch, open a door, or get something for someone. Hearing dogs they alert their owners to important sounds like the phone, doorbell, street crossing walk signals, or smoke detector. Facility dogs help at places like hospitals, schools, or nursing homes. Companion dogs are friends and helpers, like Blue, who keep people company and cheer them up. Sometimes companion dogs do special chores for their owners.
