Our Pond Photo Journal

January 2001

Alanna and her Mom are on the island in the pond.

Alanna and her Mom are on the island. They are waving at you!

Alanna and her Mom are walking on the ice to go back to shore.

The pond and island are frozen. The weather is foggy and cold.

Here are footprints in the snow and ice on the pond.

The pond habitat is cold, snowy, and foggy.

Mrs. Rennebohm Franz and Alanna are standing on the shore by the willow tree.

Alanna is pointing to the sledding tracks on the ice. People were sledding down a hill onto the ice.

Alanna is pointing to the waterfall. The waterfall is frozen.

Alanna and her Mom are sitting on the bench by the pond. Her mom brushed the snow off the bench before they sat down.

The branches of the willow tree are frozen in the pond. The ice is thick, bumpy, and cold!!!!

The pond in front of the waterfall is frozen. There is no open water for the ducks. There were no ducks at the big pond!

There was so much snow on the pond and island that it was hard to see where the pond stopped and where the island started.

You can see Alanna and her mom waving in the distance. It was very foggy! It was so foggy that you could barely see Alanna and her mom.

Now you can see Alanna and her mom up close waving to us.

You can see that the pond has both snow and ice on it.

This is the bridge with snow on it. It was really snowy there. The snow on the branches looks "winter-ish" and white like cotton!

The stream was frozen with just a little bit of open water. The snow is covering the stream like a winter blanket.

There were icicles in the stream. The icicles look kind of puffy popcicles or white sap dripping from a tree.

Alanna was showing us how deep the snow was. The snow was ALL THE WAY up to her KNEES!! Now that is DEEP DEEP SNOW!!

Alanna was making a snow angel in the fluffy, whipped cream snow!

Two people were cross country skiing in the deep, think "barely-can-see" fog!!
