Spring Tree Science

We studied the flowers and leaves of Pullman Spring trees. We learned about plum, apple, pear, crabapple, aspen and vine maple trees.

This is classmate looking at the aspen leaves.

We made observations notes about each of the Spring trees. We sketched the leaf pattern of each tree. We recorded the leaf color. If the tree had a flower, we sketched the flower and recorded the color of the flower. We learned how to identify the trees by the leaves and flowers.

We had digital images of the trees on our computers. we looked at the digital images as as slide show and had fun doing a whole class quiz to see if we could identify the trees!
