2000-2001

Our class has been studying the planets of the solar system. We made our own maps of the solar system.

We have been learning about stars. We made big paintings of stars.Click on the star painting below to see all of our paintings.

We have been learning about constellations. Each month we learn about a new constellation. In January, we learned about Orion. In February we learned about the Big Dipper. In March, we learned about Leo. In April we are learning about Bootes, the Herdsman,and in May we learned about Lyra the Lyre.

We have made star guides to help us find constellations in the sky at night with our families.

We have read fiction and non-fiction stories about space!

Our 2001 Calendar that we use each school day shows the phases of the moon. We watch for the new moon, waxing moon, waning moon and full moon.

A classroom parent showed us a telescope!

We learned about the parts of the telescope.

We learned how to look through the telescope.

We took turns looking through the telescope.
