Today we wrote our own quilt comment sin our math notebooks.
Here are some of the comments classmates wrote:
1. We have 19 patches so far.
2. We have 38 small triangles so far. We have a code for the number of triangles. It is #s.t. = #p. x 2 (The number of small triangles equals the number of patches times 2)
3. We have 3 6/8 or 3 3/4 windmills so far.
4. We have 3 diamonds so far.
5. We have 22 big triangles so far.
6. We have a pattern of patches by rows that goes: [ABAB] [CDCD] [BABA] [DCDC] [ABAÉ] so far.
7. We have 10 of fabric #1, 6 of fabric #2, 13 of fabric #3, 5 of fabric #4, and 4 of fabric #5.
8. We have a pattern of triangle fabrics by rows that goes: [1234 2143] [5313 5313] [4312 3421] [3135 3135] [1234 21..] so far.
9. We have 3 flying geese so far.
10. We have 7 parallelograms so far.
11. We have a code of letters like: s.t. for small triangle, f.g. for flying geese, b.t. for big triangles, wd. for windmills, plg. for parallelogram, and p. for patch. 12. We have a prediction that the next patch will be B (4+3).
