Winter Quilt Patch Nine

Tuesday, January 30, 2001

1. We have 9 patches so far. There are four patches in the first two rows and one in the third row. 4+ 4 is 8 and 1 more is 9..

2. We have 18 small triangles.

3. We have 8 triangles.

4. We have 3 parallelograms.

5. We have 1 windmill with the 1st two patches in the first row and the 1st two patches in the 2nd row.

6.We have 1 hexagon with the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th small triangles in the 1st row and the 2nd row.

7. We have a patch pattern by rows that goes: [ABAB] [CDCD] [B...].

8.We have a small triangle pattern by rows that goes: [12342143] [53135313] [43...].

9.We have a prediction that the next patch will be A because our pattern [ABAB ] [CDCD] will become [BABA] [DCDC] in the 3rd and 4th rows of the quilt.

Because today is the 30th day of the month, we made posters that showed hands to make a count of 30!
