Today, everyone in the class made a graph to show how many times each fabric shows up in the quilt as triangles.

Fabric #3 had the most triangles in the quilt.

Fabric #5 had the least triangles in the quilt.

The difference between the number of #3 triangles and #5 triangles is nine triangles.

Fabric #3 has nine more triangles than fabric #5.

Fabric #2 and Fabric #4 both have 5 in the quilt.

Fabric #1 has the second most triangles.

TEACHER NOTE As part of our district math assessments, each child individually conferenced with the teacher to answer the following questions:

1. What does each mark on the graph represent?

2. How many are there of fabric #1? #2? #3? #4? #5?

3. Which fabric shows up in the quilt the most?

4. Which fabric shows up in the quilt the least?

5. Which fabrics show up the same amount of times?

6. What is the difference between the fabric that shows up the most and the fabric that shows up the least?
